Arcane, Netflix’s League of Legends series, is about to arrive. The platform has just published the new trailer and we already know that it will be released.
Series based on video games have a pull, and good proof of this is that Netflix is betting heavily on game adaptations. We already know that the DOTA anime will have a second season, and the platform has already confirmed productions such as the CGI animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness or the recently announced Tomb Raider anime series, among many others that are on the way.
One of the most anticipated by gamers is Arcane, Netflix’s League of Legends series. It is the animated series of the popular Riot video game and, although it was announced for the first time in fall 2019 as part of an event celebrating the 10th anniversary of LoL, its production has been affected by restrictions on the pandemic.
Last year, Riot announced that the Arcane premiere was to be delayed until 2021. “Creative development and production are difficult, especially in a world where you can’t see your co-workers in person. We now have videoconferencing meetings, that help, but are not a substitute for being in a room where we can really make the creative energy flow, ” the study explained. “If you combine these problems with the technical difficulties of production on an international scale, the problem becomes much bigger. ”
But the wait is close to over. Netflix has announced that Arcane will be released this fall
At the moment we don’t know much about the LoL series on Netflix. In the presentation trailer, we find out that Arcane’s plot is about the origins of Jinx and Vi, two historical LoL champions, and talks about the power that separates them.
As you have seen, the new Arcane trailer is very short, so it does not allow us to know more details of the story. However, the video does help us to warm up our engines for the premiere with some of the sequences that we will be able to see in the series.
