Disney + today adds to its catalog the film that has triumphed in the last Oscar ceremony: Nomadland.
Last Sunday the Oscars were awarded to the best films of 2020 and there was a clear winner: Nomadland. In a year in which the awards have been especially distributed, this film has only won three, but among those obtained, the two most important are included: Best Film and Best Direction.
It arrived in theaters in our country a couple of months ago and it has not done too badly at the box office, but the current dynamics with the security measures that are being taken make many spectators prefer not to go to the theaters, which makes it difficult the box office of premieres that should achieve large numbers.
But if you are one of those who want to see this film and do not usually go to the cinema, you will not have to wait too long if you are a Disney + subscriber: Nomadland arrives on the platform today and it is a film that you should not miss if you consider yourself a lover of the seventh art.
The film directed by Chloé Zhao allows us to follow a widow who lives in a caravan and travels the United States from job to job for a little over a year. This protagonist played masterfully by Frances McDormand only seeks to survive and assume the circumstances she has suffered, and to do so she travels the roads, takes the jobs she can, and joins other people who live like her.
Nomadland is not a film where the plot prevails, but rather following the route that is made and enjoying the images, the different characters, and the sensitivity that they have managed to convey through a rather sad story but that has something special that provokes empathy in the viewers.
If you’re going to see a movie this weekend and don’t know which one to choose, we recommend you give Nomadland a try. After all the awards won in so many ceremonies, it will go down in history as the best film of 2020 and you cannot miss it.
